This dress helped me face another sewing goal. Decorative Pockets. I bought this pattern (Butterrick 4172) and said I don't care how long it takes me I am making those pockets. It wasn't difficult at all, and they have great possibilities because you can use contrasting fabrics for the inside and outside. I used restraint with this dress. I always want to use so much color. I love the clothing made of muted linen fabrics that you see in Japanese craft books, but I just can't do it. The fact that this dress is just two colors is progress for me. I wanted to slap a green button on the front at the end, but I made myself just walk away. This dress is also the best fit I have managed for Saga which I am very happy about. So another goal down. I should face making a romper again.

Gorgeous dress - the pockets are a great feature!
I love the dress - and I really love the first photo of Sweet Saga in the garden. Are those dahlias? (I don't really know flowers, but those are lovely!)
That is such a sweet dress. I love the pockets. I also love using color too. Life is short, right?
That is the cutest dress. You are so talented at making lovely outfits (it doesn't hurt that your model is a cutie as well!!!)
What a beautiful dress.
Just letting you know I have just "tagged" you for "6 random things". Hope you'll play!
I love that dress - the pockets are so cute - and so is your daughter :-)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Love your sewing projects. Great job on the pockets and I'm digging the 'sheet' shirt.
Thanks for the kind words about the dress. I bought more of the fabric to make a shirt for me.
Hannah- The flowers are zinnias, and they look very similar to dahlias especially in this photo. Can you believe that picture was taken in the Hoover garden!
Lisa-thank you for the tag! I better get thinking about the 6 things.
