I made this shirt using McCalls 3610. I changed the sleeves and the collar. The fabric was really inexpensive, so I experimented. Next time I will make it a little smaller overall. Yesterday I was at my mother's house we were looking through some of her trims and bias tapes. She had a whole collection from the 70's. There was so much orange and brown! I now have some, and can't wait to use it.

That's a very nice shirt! I'm a bit hesitant to make clothes for me, because it just takes much more fitting than for children. Nice work! :)

I am not brave enough to make fitted clothes. I always make something loose and easy to alter. But it is true when you sew for children you just make it a little on the big side, and it will fit them in due time.

I just found your blog via a comment you left for me. I fell in love with your photo of the lavender field. My girls and I are going to Albuquerque, NM for Lavender in the Valley. They have a festival set up around the lavender harvest.
Anyway..good luck with your sewing this summer. It looks like you are off to a great start.
